Pit Bull Attacks Owners

kndo.com
KENNEWICK, Wash.–Police say late Wednesday (January 23) morning, a passerby saw a woman being attacked by a dog.
She called police. When they arrived, they found that a man and woman had been bitten by their own Pit Bull. The 21-year-old man was bitten on both arms and one leg. A 19-year-old woman was bitten on her leg.

When officers attempted to photograph the man’s wounds, he refused and took himself to the hospital. The woman was helpful, but ended up being arrested for a warrant. Tri-City Animal Control officials say a witness mentioned the dog was often being tormented.

“It could be just poking the dog with a stick or poking at a dog,” mentions Angela Zilar, Tri-City Animal Control Officer. Yelling at it. It could be withholding food, it could be withholding water>

The woman was taken to Kennewick General Hospital and later transported to the Benton County Jail. The dog was taken by a friend to Hermiston, Oregon.

Zilar added that the Pit Bull owners did not have a permit for the dog. A reminder, all Pit Bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers or any mix of those two breeds must have a permit in Kennewick.

They cost $25.00 dollars and you can apply for one at Tri-City Animal Control in Pasco.
